UVic Law facilities

UVic Law offers a wide range of facilities and resources for students. Below is a listing of some of them. For more information about the university's facilities outside of the law school, take a look at the Facilities FAQ.

 

Diana M. Priestly Law Library

In 2008 and 2009, there will be extensive renovations taking place in the Diana M. Priestly Law Library. While construction is underway, steps are being taken to maintain the quality of the student experience to the greatest extent possible. More information is available on the library's Renovation and Renewal website.

Photocopying and copy cards

The Law Library has photocopiers available for student use. Photocopiers are also available in the McPherson Library. These copiers only accept copy cards, which can be purchased at the copy card vending machine in the main floor's copy room. Any dollar amount can be put on these cards. Copying can also be done inexpensively at ZAP!, located in the Student Union Building (by the main campus bus loop).

Computer Lab

The Computer Lab is available for use by all law students. You will need to identify yourself to the staff before logging in. If you require assistance, a tutor is often available in the lab during peak periods. Laser printers are also available. Cards to operate these printers can be purchased at the circulation desk.

NetLink and WebMail

Visit NetLink and follow the automated screens to create your NetLink ID and WebMail email account.

A NetLink ID is a unique personal identifier which will allow you to access a variety of systems and services at UVic, including student computer labs on campus and the library Gateway. It will also allow you to access your free UVic email account and the uSource portal system.

You can access your WebMail email account from on-campus or off-campus, using any popular web browser.
