The Collective Bargaining Process, from the negotiating of a collective agreement through to grieving violations of a contract, shapes the daily lives of millions of workers across the country. Almost one third of Canadian workers are in a unionized workplace and labour lawyers play a significant role in how their work experiences play out. Her talk will address the practice of public interest advocacy law, and she will discuss PIAC’s Community Complaint to the Ombudsman, 2005 with respect to welfare rights. Sarah’s presentation is part of the Law 391 course in which students are studying how public interest advocacy law can be provided through community law offices.
