Starting your legal career is an exciting time. Your interests, past work experiences, volunteer opportunities and aspirations will form your choices. 

The Law Careers Office provides you with the career counselling needed to begin your legal career. Whether you choose a clerkship, a legal internship, a summer firm position, an articling position or to tailor an opportunity for your future - our office can assist. Stop by the Law Careers Office to learn more about the resources available to you as you begin planning your career in Law.

The Law Careers Office - LCO is located in room 140 of the Fraser Building – or for easier reference - just across from the student lounge.

Plan to meet with Alison Cowan or Stephanie Mitchell, Law Careers Officers for one-on-one career and resume counselling assistance. The most effective method of booking an appointment is to drop by the LCO office and speak to Nathalia Bellina, Law Careers Assistant or contact her at careerof@uvic.ca.

Attend LCO events designed to introduce you to a wide range of legal career options.  These LCO events draw upon a wide range of guests, including judges, legal recruiters, government advocates, career experts, legal practitioners and members of the Bar engaged in exciting careers.

The LCO maintains a library that holds several career developments books, firm brochures, and other general information about the legal profession. Please feel free to explore the LCO resources any weekeday between 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
