This conference
is designed for faculty and graduate students with a strong interest
in issues of recognition and self-determination, in both indigenous and
multicultural contexts.
We are especially
keen to welcome people interested in Demcon's theoretical agenda (see
Purpose) who wish to join our extended conversation.
The conference is by invitation only, but we are delighted to receive
requests for invitations and will be liberal in issuing them. Please
contact demcon@uvic.ca.
Registration fees for the entire conference are $160.00 for
faculty and $80.00 for graduate students and include
the conference dinner on Friday as well as continental breakfasts and
lunches on Saturday and Sunday. Members of the sponsoring research groups
may register without fee. Please fill out a registration form and under "Total
Enclosed" please put whether you are with the EDG or IPG research
group.
Registrants are eligible for concessional rates at the hotel associated
with the conference (generally $104.00 plus taxes per night at one of
Victoria's finest hotels.)
We hope to be able to assist graduate
students with their travel expenses. Please let us know if you require
assistance. Please contact demcon@uvic.ca.
